Equitable access to nutritious food today, while building a food secure tomorrow.
Open Heart Kitchen is the largest hot meal program of its kind in the Tri-Valley Area. Founded in 1995 as a small, grassroots effort to address hunger in the Tri-Valley, Open Heart Kitchen now serves meals at multiple locations in Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton, California. With dignity and respect, we serve through three prepared meal programs: the Hot Meal Program, the Senior Meal Program, and the Street Outreach Program. Guests come from all walks of life and Open Heart Kitchen has become a safety net to those in need during challenging times.
Volunteers
Open Heart Kitchen volunteer opportunities are open to any individual who is at least 16 years of age, and has received a COVID-19 vaccination. With volunteer opportunities available every Monday through Friday, You can volunteer to help Open Heart Kitchen bring equitable access to nutritious foods by:
– Assisting the Production Kitchen staff with preparing and cooking meals at the OHK Production Kitchen in Danville.
– Working alongside our mobile pop-up pantry team to distribute groceries at weekly sites in Dublin and Pleasanton.
– Serving meals to Senior Meal and Hot Meal clients at our dining sites located in Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore.

Open Heart Kitchen is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization. Over 96% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly into our meal programs (receipt provided upon request).
